Meet the Principal

Legacy Middle School is excited to welcome Mr. Jaime Jaén as our new principal. Mr. Jaén brings over a decade of dedicated leadership experience from KIPP Texas Public Schools, where he served in multiple roles including teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Throughout his career, he has been known for driving academic growth, fostering inclusive and achievement-oriented school cultures, and building strong relationships with families and the broader community.

Mr. Jaén is deeply committed to student success and equitable outcomes for all learners. His leadership style is centered around high expectations, strategic planning, and empowering both students and staff to reach their fullest potential.

As Legacy begins its journey as a TEA-designated ACE (Accelerating Campus Excellence) campus, Mr. Jaén’s vision and results-driven leadership will guide our campus through this important transformation. We are proud to have Mr. Jaén at the helm and look forward to all that lies ahead under his leadership.

Knight family, it is with great pleasure that I will be one of your assistant principals this school year. I am entering my 9th year in education and my 4th year here in ECISD, where I taught science at the middle and high school levels. I grew up in San Antonio, and was able to return to my home to serve and teach the communities here. I am excited to work with the faculty at Legacy to help every student and family receive the highest quality education, every minute of every day. Together, we will make this a year where each student will experience service, excellence, and growth. I am a dedicated and results-driven educational leader with over 23 years of experience in instruction, teacher development, and student achievement. My specialty is in coaching educators, leading data-driven instruction, and managing staff development. I have held key instructional leadership roles across both charter and public schools, including founding lead teacher positions and academy lead roles, and my work has consistently led to measurable student growth, particularly in literacy.

I have been recognized with multiple awards, including Educator of the Year honors from both KIPP and Northside ISD, and have a strong background in service learning and community engagement. My passion lies in developing teachers and ensuring all students have access to high-quality education.

Hello Knight Families! My name is Brianna Olomua and I am your Programs Facilitator! I have worked in education teaching middle and high school Career and Technology classes for over 10 years serving as an ongoing Special Education ARD and 504 Committee member. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences dual major with Business Administration from Texas State University with honors Magna Cum Laude. I have three teacher certifications in 6-12th Family and Consumer Sciences, Business, and Marketing. The success of your student is my ultimate goal and I am passionate about meeting their needs to provide them with equal access education to help them to succeed!

I am a class of '02 graduate of East Central High School and a 2014 graduate of Wayland Baptist University where I earned my MBA in Business Management. I taught Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses for 4 years before earning my School Counselor certification from Angelo State University and coming to Legacy. I am passionate about personal/social development and look forward to serving you and your family.

My name is Kaitlin Wollney and this is my 8th year as a counselor at Legacy Middle School. I am a class of '07 graduate of East Central High School and a 2011 graduate of UTSA where I earned my BS in Multidisciplinary Science. I taught high school science for 5 years in San Marcos CISD before earning my M.Ed in School Counseling from Lamar University and coming to Legacy. I am passionate about youth mental health and look forward to serving you and your family.

Jennifer Smith is the campus librarian and technology coordinator. She has worked for East Central ISD for 29 years and has been at Legacy since the campus opened. She received her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and her Masters of Library and Information Sciences from the University of North Texas.
